Onto day 2 of the 5-Day Fall Cleanse and I am feeling great! I really did need this little reset both physically and mentally. This juice was actually breakfast for day 1, yesterday. I should really call it, “Fridge Cleaning Juice” or “I am surprised to find anything healthy in the fridge with all the leftovers, wine and hard cider, juice”. It was a busy weekend and my fridge showed it. Saturday, we drove down to San Diego for the Gluten-free Oktoberfest, which was amazing! Sunday, we had a fun little late-day lunch with some of my favorite gluten-free girls Meg from Beard and Bonnet, Gina from So…Let’s Hang Out and Cara from Fork and Beans, plus Meg’s friend Amber was visiting from Georgia, too. Such a fun afternoon. I laughed so hard, we ate so well, cocktails were had and then just like that, they were all gone and I was sad. I seriously don’t know if I have ever hung out with that many ladies at once, that I had so much in common with.
I woke up the next morning, yesterday, ready to hit the ground running on this cleanse, opened my fridge and realized that I wasn’t starting off on the right foot. There was a half drank bottle of prosecco, one lonely hard cider and some random leftovers. I was so focused on getting all the materials and the shopping list online for you guys to follow along with us, so you could have time to prepare and I myself didn’t even prepare. DUH! So, I started digging through what was left of our last CSA box and was able to come up with enough goodies to make this juice. Surprisingly, it was one of the tastiest green juices I have ever had. I think a big reason was the adorable little Persian cucumbers. My gosh those beauties are tasty.
For lunch yesterday, I whipped up a yummy bowl of veggies and by the time lunch was over it was apparent I had to hit the store. I went to the grocery store last night, to load up on veggies to get me through until I get my CSA box on Wednesday! So, I am now officially overloaded with produce and even more ready for this cleanse than before.
If you are joining us on the cleanse, how are you feeling today? Did you stock up on veggies before the cleanse or did you make do with what you had, on day 1?

I’m not doing the cleanse (I’m 6 months pregnant & know better), but I do want to add some of these foods to my diet. I know I feel so much better when I eat more raw foods. But being pregnant, you wouldn’t believe how much I crave specific foods–it’s like a little monster is inside of me telling me to eat certain foods 🙂
Anyway, I’m enjoying following along, & maybe sometime after baby I’ll be ready to do the full schabang.
(also, that juice is so beautiful–such a deep green!)
Janae! How did I miss that you were pregnant??! Congrats what incredible news. When are you due?
No worries! I didn’t make the announcement until just last month. I’m due January 16 :).

What is the CSA box?
Community Supported Agriculture. Essentially it’s a farm share for produce. You may a weekly price and get a box full of what is in season now, so it’s always changing.
