I realize this should be titled “Photo Fun Day Sunday Afternoon”. My parents’ trip ended Friday afternoon and with that came some sad goodbyes and an afternoon of loafing around for Mark and I after we drove them to the airport. We had a busy week with them, we crammed a lot in and it was really wonderful! So nice to spend an entire week with my parents. Uninterrupted by work, obligations, business meetings, events, other people, etc. I don’t know if I have ever had that much time with just me (and Mark) my parents, ever! It was nice, to say the least.
We made lots of meals at home, we went to a few of our favorite restaurants and even tried a few new places that Mark and I haven’t been to yet. We took a lot of walks, checked out the Long Beach Flea on Father’s Day, hosted a big dinner with friends, we of course, took them for their first trip to Disneyland and lastly, the beach on the last day, to end their trip right.
Here’s a few pics from the past week, most from the time we spent with my parents!
My dad and Seri. Not sure who is enjoying the sun more. They are both sun-a-holics.
Crab Pot for dinner. Seafood overload. So good.
My dad of course, found a Greek friend at the Long Beach flea. We’re probably somehow distantly related to him.
I nabbed this vintage pyrex (with the lid) for just $8 at the flea!
Homemade vegan dolmades, made with grape leaves from the vines in our yard. Part of our big Greek feast we made for our friends.
I never take enough photos when we host dinner. This is the only one I took, of course. Everyone chowing down.
We made dolmades, roasted red pepper and feta dip, pastitsio, grilled marinated boneless grass-fed leg of lamb, a huge Greek salad, grilled zucchini from my garden and my dad’s famous rice pudding.
A beautiful bouquet of flowers from Deb and Dan.
Radiator Springs. My dad’s face cracks me up. He swears he was enjoying it and having a great time.
We made Watermelon Lime Margaritas inspired by this recipe from Healthy Green Kitchen (please ignore the dog hair all over the deck)
Shaw’s Cove in Laguna Beach. That’s my parent’s in the water
My zucchini are growing like crazy, I have picked three times this in the last week! Look for lotsa of zucchini recipes.

You look so sun-kissed, deeply serene and positively beautiful in all the pics; you just GLOW! California definitely seems to be agreeing with you. 🙂 And, I concur with Pam; I’ll take Photo Fun Friday on whatever day you want to post it. I swear, it’s my favorite part of your blog. 🙂
