Happy Friday, friends!! Hope you all had a really great week and I hope everyone has an amazing weekend ahead. For my American friends, Happy Memorial Day weekend. We finally got our grill, it showed up today, so we are having a little BBQ here at our house on Monday! Do have anything fun planned for the (long) weekend?
My sweeties on a walk around the lagoon by our house.
I am not sure who loves when we babysit Lucy more, us or our cat Jpeg. He just adores Lucy.
A quick and simple Spring pasta dish I made for dinner the other night, with peas, feta, mint and lemon zest.
Sunset beach bike ride. I am not sure I will ever get over that this is where I live now.
Checked in on the trees around my yard this week. Check out those baby avocados.
The peaches are looking nice and fuzzy.
Spotted some good sized figs on the tree this week.
Some of the grapes are getting pretty big already. Cannot wait to find out what variety they are.
The dwarf lime tree on our deck with a special guest appearance by Lucy.
Hello there, beautiful. I adore artichokes.
How sweet are these two together? Best friends forever.
After giving the seeds I started a few weeks head start, I filled in the remaining spaces in my garden with some small plants. Here is the long list of what we have mesclun greens mix, San Marzano plum tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, red bell, poblano, jalapeño, banana and Serrano peppers, cucumbers, eggplant, zucchini, artichoke and both red and white onions. (Herb planting this weekend!)
I am super excited about this artichoke plant. I have no clue what to expect and it sounds like it will get pretty big. Anyone have experience with growing artichokes?
Sometimes as a food blogger, you get to eat dessert BEFORE dinner. Ya know, because the light is just perfect for taking photos. Darn! Look for this recipe this upcoming week!

I canNOT believe that you have that many fruit bearing plants in your BACKYARD! Know what I have in my backyard? Ants. Lots and lots of ants. And deer that eat my flower garden and hostas. Me? Bitter? No! LOL 🙂
Seriously, SO jealous of your FIG tree!! Yay for you! (I could literally, eat my own weight in figs. They’re like CRACK.) I can’t wait to see how everything turns out and the bounty you get to reap. I’m super excited to hear how it all TASTES!
PS
LOVE the Lucy shots. SO sweet.
