A Very Tasty Thanksgiving – Gluten-free & Dairy-free, too.

Welcome to A Very Tasty Thanksgiving on Tasty Yummies!
I am so excited about this series of posts for one of my favorite times of year, Thanksgiving. I am on the road for work for 10 days leading up to Thanksgiving which means most of what I had planned to create in my kitchen and share with you guys ultimately just isn’t going to happen this year. Once I learned just how long this trip was going to be and how little time I would have in my kitchen this November, I decided to pull together some of the very best to fill in while I am away. From now until Thanksgiving, I have a series of incredible guest bloggers lined up to share delicious, creative gluten-free and dairy-free Thanksgiving inspired recipes and other tips and treats for this transitional time of year. And you’ll still see a couple of Thanksgiving posts from me for my ongoing series with Free People, as well as my weekly Photo Fun Day Friday series, from the road.
Besides being gluten-free and dairy-free, all of the recipes shared by these incredible bloggers celebrate what is seasonal, wholesome and fresh. We all know there are certain foods this time of year that we all crave and look to for comfort, but we don’t need to walk away from the Thanksgiving feast feeling guilt and shame, or even worse – actual physical pain and discomfort. It isn’t worth it! But, we needn’t sacrifice all of the deliciousness and feel left out, either. So, check out these recipes, get your menu planning started and eat well this holiday season!
In addition to some wonderful recipes, we have some additional seasonal posts planned for you including tips on transitioning into fall and winter (and holiday) eating, yoga asanas to compliment the season and other fun things.
Check back daily for links to the new posts and for ideas for your own holiday feasts!

Hi, I think you said you were coming to Williamsburg which is my hood. I wanted to throw out some suggestions for great food here – grain free of course. Nicer restaurants we love: Dressler, Rye, Maison Premiere. Brooklyn winery is one of my favorite spots in Brooklyn. You may want to check out Brooklyn Kitchen (atrisian grocery) – it’s another favorite.
And finally, The Meatball shop makes grain free meatballs that my husband loves.
Have a great time!!
Hi Kerry thanks for the super great suggestions! Yeh we are staying in Greenpoint right at the edge of Williamsburg so this is a huge help. I hope I have some time to check some of these places out, our time in NYC is a bit limited but hopefully there will be enough time to play! Thanks again!
Beth this whole concept turned out amazing – so proud to be a part of it.
You {we} rock!
Safe travels,
Sherrie
Thanks Sherrie!! So very happy to have you.
when are you coming to greenpoint?!?!?!?
Kirsten, we get to Greenpoint super late Thursday and then we are doing the Renegade Craft Fair holiday market at the East River Park on Saturday and Sunday. You should come by, it’d be great to see you!
I’m not sure if it’s just me… but I don’t see the links for the recipes after Queen of Quinoa’s Roasted Brussels Sprout Quinoa Salad. Will those come later?
Hi Brittany, it’s not just you, each recipe link will pop up as the recipe goes live on the blog. New post every day until Weds, 11/21, please check back each day for another post! Thanks.
Love the squash mash idea. It’s funny, since my whole family is vegetarian, we usually have curry for Thanksgiving.
