Meet Our Sponsor: KeVita Sparkling Probiotic Drinks

As you all know, I am quite selective with the brands that I will take on as sponsors of Tasty Yummies – most especially when it comes to food and drinks. As someone that generally makes everything I can myself, most of the companies that approach me with products to try and consequently share with my readers, are approaching me with products that I would just never buy myself. If you ran into me at the grocery store, it is more likely that you will find tons of fruits and veggies, your standard pantry items, maybe a couple fun healthy drinks, like kombucha or the like and if I am feeling extra nice, maybe a few random (somewhat) junk food items that I will agree to buy for my hubby.

For me to work with a (food) brand, I have to really love their products and what they are doing and it really has to be something that I can feel good about sharing with you guys. I can honestly say that for every one company that I agree to work with, there are probably 10 to 15 that I turned down.

When KeVita approached me a while back to try their drinks I was so excited – a company with a product that I had already been eyeing up at the store. I have had bottles of KeVita in my hands at the store so many times, but for fear that I might not like it, I always went with my old faithful, some type of kombucha – which I love not just for the probiotics and health benefits, but also for the fizziness!

It has been years since I have drank traditional high fructose corn syrup-laden soda, I can’t tell you the last time I had one, but I absolutely LOVE fizzy drinks. There is something that I just adore about that refreshing bubbly goodness. Whether it be just sparkling mineral water, a health soda pop, kombucha, a good sparkling wine or now, KeVita’s Sparkling Probiotic Drinks!

What is KeVita?

Since I started talking with KeVita, I have had the pleasure of sampling every single flavor of KeVita and I am now obsessed. But, KeVita’s Sparkling Probiotic Drinks really are so much more than a fizzy drink – their proprietary culture starts with four strains of live probiotics. Their probiotic culture is water, rather than milk-based, and is derived from kefir cultures using a process that they have been evolving for years. Kevita’s drinks are certified organic, non-dairy, non-GMO, gluten free and vegan.

What are Probiotics?

Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that reside in the gut. Intestinal health depends, to a large extent, on having an ample supply of these beneficial bacteria in the digestive tract. Research indicates that probiotics may support immune and digestive health.

In today’s world our daily stress levels can be so high! Stress undermines our healthy digestive flora. A combination of a poor diet, medications, stress, environmental toxins and chemicals wreak havoc on our digestive tracts. Many believe that our bodies thrive with a constant influx of probiotics to replenish the gut and counteract these negative effects.

You can read even more about probiotics here on the KeVita site.

So, How is KeVita Different from Kombucha?

I know you guys are wondering this – I was too when I first heard of KeVita. To be honest. I am a big fan of kombucha personally, so I was curious how the flavor compared. KeVita has much more of a toned down taste in that there isn’t that tart, vinegary flavor (that I personally love) that kombucha has, but many people are turned off by. I know many people that do not like kombucha because they find the flavor to be overpowering, but they absolutely love KeVita.

Traditionally, kombucha is fermented with black tea while KeVita is fermented with coconut water, tea or reverse osmosis water. KeVita is light in flavor, refreshing and delicious and I find that the fruit flavors included are much more pronounced and distinguishable than with kombucha. To me the two really are quite different.

12 Unique Flavors

KeVita now has 12 different flavors including three brand new flavors, Tangerine, Blueberry Cherry and Hibiscus Berry Daily Cleanse. My personal favorites are the three new flavors, which are just so incredible, but I also really love the Lemon Ginger, Living Greens and the Lemon Cayenne Daily Cleanse. As someone that sometimes finds stevia to be a tad overpowering – I find these are the flavors that I enjoy the most. That said, there hasn’t been a single KeVita flavor that I didn’t like. All but two of the KeVita Sparkling Probiotic Drinks are sweetened naturally with stevia, Lemon Ginger and the Living Greens flavors are instead sweetened with a small amount cane juice. All of the flavors are caffeine-free with the exception of the Tangerine flavor which includes organic green coffee bean extract and the Living Greens flavor that includes a blend of green teas. All 12 Kevita’s drinks are certified organic, non-dairy, non-GMO, gluten free and vegan.

Nice just not so nice to know that they are not selling anywhere near where I am in metro ATL

2 Terri May 12, 2014 at 7:08 am

These look great! I love kombucha and water kefir, so I have no doubt I’d enjoy KeVita too.

3 Christina May 12, 2014 at 7:15 am

Love the sound of these! Let’s do away with all soda and replace them with drinks like Kevita!

4 Beatriz May 12, 2014 at 7:33 am

I’ve had the EXACT same experience as you had with Kevita, contemplating it at the store and ultimately putting it down for kombucha! I’d love to try it without feeling that I’m taking a “risk” 😉

5 Toni May 12, 2014 at 10:16 am

I so badly want to like Kombucha, but that tart flavor isn’t my favorite. Sounds like Kevita would be the best option!

6 Lisa P May 12, 2014 at 10:37 am

I have not tried it, but I am all for fermented foods/drinks and probiotics. I would like to try it to see how it compares to kombucha and water kefir. Thanks for the giveaway!

7 Linda May 12, 2014 at 11:14 am

I have heard nothing but good things about probiotics, but have not yet tried them. I’m almost 69, but I think it’s never too late to teach an old dog new tricks. And if I’ll be healthier for it, so much the better. Thanks for offering me the opportunity to try.

8 Jessica May 12, 2014 at 11:28 am

I love kombucha and have seen this in the case next to it but h ave yet to purchase. Would love to try some before splurging as it usually doesn’t go on sale like my kobucha.

9 Carissa May 12, 2014 at 11:29 am

I’ve tried Kevita once and really loved it. So many yummy flavors with so much that’s good-for-you inside!

10 Sara May 12, 2014 at 11:29 am

I’ve been curious about this drink for a while, so I’m really glad you shared how it is different from kombucha! I don’t drink soda anymore but occasionally I’m looking for a healthy alternative.

11 Kennis May 12, 2014 at 11:31 am

I feel the same way about buying certain health drinks at the store. I will usually look up the drink before I purchase & I have read so many amazing reviews about this drink. I actually just bought my first one today at whole foods. I was hoping to buy the berry hibiscus cleanse but, I do not think it’s in stores yet. I bought the coconut one it’s so fun, bubbly, & good!!

12 Jennifer May 12, 2014 at 11:48 am

Like you Beth, I love the sparking nature of these drinks.. they feel like a treat but knowing they are good for you, too, makes them that much more enjoyable. The pomegranate coconut is my favorite. Not too sweet but satisfying. I am always scared to try new flavors because I love that one so much. Winning the coupons would give me the chance to branch out! So glad you chose to endorse them. I love them!

13 Michelle May 12, 2014 at 11:50 am

I’m always trying to find ways to get more probiotics and these look perfect!

14 Emily @ Recipes to Nourish May 12, 2014 at 12:31 pm

I LOVE Kevita! A huge fan of it, I’d love to try those new flavors, yum! It helped me so much when I was pregnant. I still drink it all the time and my tiny love drinks it too.

15 Raelyn Ward May 12, 2014 at 12:35 pm

I absolutely LOVE kevita! I drink one everyday, the Mojita one is my favorite but the hibiscus looks divine!

16 Holly May 12, 2014 at 12:39 pm

I drink kombucha on a regular basis, but I have never tried Kevita. Sounds delish!

17 Brittany May 12, 2014 at 1:28 pm

I just tried KeVita recently (last weekend actually) and I think you’re right about it being milder than kombucha — perfect for those that cringe at the vinegary flavor kombucha sometimes has.

So far I’ve tried the lemon ginger and lemon cayenne. I’m excited to try the new flavors you mentioned. I’ll have to be on the lookout for them!

18 Eliza May 12, 2014 at 1:29 pm

I love these drinks, would love to win! and I love your blog!

19 thuy n. May 12, 2014 at 1:40 pm

20 Alicia May 12, 2014 at 1:45 pm

The Lemon Ginger was a lifesaver during my first trimester of pregnancy! Love KeVita!

21 Jamie May 12, 2014 at 2:04 pm

I love KeVita! I agree it is a different and lighter flavor I think than kombucha, and not overly sweet which is great.

22 Melissa K. May 12, 2014 at 2:11 pm

Hey this sounds really yummy! Even if I do not win, I’m going to check it out at my natural grocery!

23 Ashley May 12, 2014 at 2:21 pm

What a great way to get probiotics that doesn’t involve dairy or a pill! :)

24 Kathleen @ Fearlessly Creative Mammas May 12, 2014 at 2:34 pm

I was just talking about kombucha with a friend this morning. Funny I would get this now. She was telling me I should try it. I didn’t know about the vinegar taste. I’m not sure I’d love that. The Kevita sounds better. I have digestive and immune system issues, so I take probiotics every day. This would be another way to get them in my system. Lime Mint Coconut sounds tasty. I’d love to try these.

25 Amy May 12, 2014 at 2:36 pm

I absolutely love soda! I don’t love all the chemicals, HFCS or aspartame. KeVita sounds like just the ticket with lots of healthy probiotics and fermented goodness! Thanks for the opportunity to win some, Beth!

26 Chatelaine May 12, 2014 at 3:12 pm

I’ve always been curious about the Kevita drinks. I’m glad I had the chance to read up on them. I’d love to try them as another probiotic source in my life!

27 Heidi May 12, 2014 at 3:13 pm

I would love to try this brand out!

28 Sherri May 12, 2014 at 4:25 pm

I have tried a few of them and they are very light and refreshing.

29 sarah May 12, 2014 at 4:42 pm

my boss was telling me about those! I would love to try!

30 Danielle May 12, 2014 at 6:49 pm

I love Kevita! They flavors are so refreshing and I get the added benefits of probiotics. My favorite flavors are the Strawberry Acai Coconut and the Coconut.

31 Jordan May 12, 2014 at 7:00 pm

I love the fizz and how refreshing it is! I’ve only tried the lemon cayenne flavor, but it was awesome.

32 Kelli H. May 12, 2014 at 7:19 pm

I’ve being trying to stop drinking soda and these sound like a great alternative. Would love to try them!

33 Joanna May 12, 2014 at 8:05 pm

I have some in my fridge right now and id love to win some more!! I use them in smoothies!

34 Jessica May 12, 2014 at 8:49 pm

I love these! I found them at Whole Foods and saw that they were made or bottled in Ventura, can’t remember which, and that’s where I’m from! I didn’t know they were bigger than just that area so this is cool. The strawberry is my favorite. I’ve never been a big soda fan but I love that these are just slightly sweet and fizzy and have the probiotic benefit. Thanks for the giveaway!

35 Courtney Grace May 12, 2014 at 8:51 pm

I have never tried this before, but I have been trying to include probiotics in my diet.

36 Penny Warren May 12, 2014 at 9:07 pm

Yum yum yum!!! I love this stuff!!! :)

37 julie May 12, 2014 at 10:10 pm

I like kevita, I like the fresh taste of it. I tend to stick the same flavors…I didn’t realize there were so many different kinds out and also the new flavors that I would love to try!

38 Karen May 12, 2014 at 11:51 pm

I’ve been eyeing these but haven’t gone for it because of the stevia. I can’t handle much of it, but in small enough amounts I don’t react. It would be great to be able to try them. I love my kombucha but it’s always nice to have another beverage.

39 jill conyers May 13, 2014 at 4:48 am

I currently take probiotics daily in the powder form and I’m finding it’s hard to add it to recipe without overpowering the flavor. I never considered a drink. Would love to try KeVita as another option.

40 janet @ the taste space May 13, 2014 at 5:16 am

Love that it is low calorie. Definitely want to try it out now!

41 Larkspur Morton May 13, 2014 at 12:56 pm

I just tried kevita last week, and loved it! I look forward to trying more flavors. Thanks.

42 Linda May 13, 2014 at 2:51 pm

I don’t always keep probiotic capsules around and don’t love kombucha. So KeVita sounds like a perfect solution. Nice to have all of those flavor options!

43 Michele May 13, 2014 at 6:53 pm

I love the Lemon Ginger and the Daily Cleanse – they are both so light, tangy and refreshing!!

44 Allyson Reddy May 14, 2014 at 4:51 am

This is so exciting! My body sounds like it really needs some probiotics right now, so I’d love to win!

45 Mallory May 14, 2014 at 1:02 pm

I would love to try KeVita! I love kombucha and anything with probiotics, and these flavors sound amazing!

46 Catherine May 15, 2014 at 8:08 am

KeVita is my FAVORITE carbonated drink. I love the Mojita one, but would really like to try the new flavors. I haven’t seen them stocked locally yet.

47 Kim May 16, 2014 at 10:49 am

I love that KeVita doesn’t put a lot of crappy sugar in their drinks! I hate when I find a probiotic that has 11g+ of sugar per serving.

48 Rebecca Parsons May 16, 2014 at 5:07 pm

I have tried the Lemon Ginger. Really good flavor.

49 Viviana May 17, 2014 at 11:45 am

I would love to try these KeVita drinks!! I also love fizzy drinks and some of these flavour combinations simply sound divine!!

50 Elizabeth G. May 17, 2014 at 3:22 pm

I’ve tried it and I love that it is made with coconut water.

51 Raine May 18, 2014 at 1:54 pm

I hope they are available in Canada! I love the way Kombucha makes my tummy feel, but sometimes the strong flavour is a little too much.

52 Daisy May 18, 2014 at 8:20 pm

I have tried the mojita and strawberry acai coconut flavors, but I’m lovin’ the sound of some of the newer flavors! I don’t think my store carries very many of the flavors yet; I’ll have to ask them to!

53 Charlotte Garcia May 19, 2014 at 1:08 pm

These drinks are so tasty and good for me too!

54 Sarah May 19, 2014 at 1:16 pm

Recently tried this at Whole Foods. So yummy!
